“Mitakuye oyasin”
This Indigenous peoples’ greeting, meaning “We are all related,”
captures the way they see the world.
Indigenous peoples of North America view all life forms as
siblings born from Mother Earth, and nature as something
to be shared with future generations.
Indigenous children carried in cradles probably smelled the
wind and felt the so􄠥 touch of the earth while watching
the trees and clouds in the sunlight and observing the
world around them.
Despite their experience of con􄠧ict and crisis through the
encounters with newcomers, the values treasured by
Indigenous peoples have not been lost.
It is hoped that this exhibition, shedding light on Indigenous
peoples’ cultures, can o􄠚er us an opportunity to re􄠧ect on
our own lives.
