This painting depicts a dancer performing the Eagle Dance. For Hopi people, the eagle represents strength and acts as an intermediary between the physical and spiritual worlds. At the top center of this painting is the head of an Eagle Dancer Katsina, highlighted with geometric forms in blue and red with feathers extending from the top and a yellow beak below. Dan Namingha sought to convey the movement, color, and energy of the Eagle Dancer Katsina through sweeping brushstrokes.
