Overview
This sculpture depicts “Koshare,” a clown katsina that can still be seen in Puebloan dances today. This Koshare is repairing his broken horn, so focused on threading the needle that he crosses his eyes and toes. The artist who sculpted this work infused traditional katsina forms with universal emotions, such as fear, sadness, anxiety, or—as in the case of this Kosahre—concentration.
